Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Wallpapify runs entirely in your browser. Your image is opened locally, edited locally and exported locally — it never leaves your device. There's no account, no cookie, no tracker. See the privacy page for the whole story (it's short).
Does Wallpapify remove photo metadata (EXIF)?
Yes, automatically. Exports are rendered pixel-by-pixel onto a fresh canvas, so none of the original file's metadata (GPS location, camera model, timestamps) survives into the wallpaper. What leaves the studio is the picture, nothing else.
Why does my iPhone zoom in and crop my wallpaper?
iOS enlarges wallpapers slightly to give its perspective-zoom parallax effect room to move, which crops the edges of your image. Frame with the parallax safe-area guide enabled, or turn off Perspective Zoom when setting the wallpaper. Full explanation in the guide.
What size should an iPhone wallpaper be?
Your model's native resolution — 1320×2868 for iPhone 17 Pro Max / 16 Pro Max, 1206×2622 for iPhone 17 / 16 Pro, 1179×2556 for iPhone 16 / 15, and so on. Wallpapify exports the exact pixels for every model; the complete chart lives on the sizes page.
How do I keep the clock readable over a busy photo?
Turn on the lock-screen preview to see exactly where the clock sits, then raise the top scrim — a soft dark fade behind the digits. It's how designed wallpapers stay legible without dimming the whole image.
What image should I start with?
Ideally one at least as large as your target resolution (about 1300×2900 covers the biggest phones). Wallpapify warns you when an image would need upscaling. Portrait photos with the subject off-centre work beautifully — you'll have room to compose around the clock.
Does a black wallpaper really save battery?
On OLED screens, yes — black pixels are switched off entirely. Use Fit mode to frame your image on pure black. It also looks sharp on any modern phone with a dark dock.
Can I use any image I find online?
Personal-use wallpapering of images you've saved is generally tolerated, but you should own or have rights to what you process. Everything you make in the generator is procedurally created in your browser and yours to keep, share or publish.
